The right side of the manikin has one cutaway viewing area to illustrate the anatomical relationships between the skin surface, musculature, ribs, and lungs. The left side has one pressurized tension pneumothorax site and a site for the surgical placement of a functional chest tube. It is the site to surgically insert chest tubes to treat pleural effusion by draining fluids from the pleural space. Fluid color, volume, and viscosity can be controlled by the instructor.

Needle decompression air reservoirs provide realistic releases of air on insertion of needle
Reservoirs can be filled with fluid or simulated blood to represent pleural effusion
Anatomically accurate representation of an adult male torso with raised arms
A “pop” is felt as the needle enters the thoracic cavity

Combined use of the standard Pads and the chest reservoirs allows for the simulation of pleural effusion.



Cleaning  

Drain all fluid from the product when not in use
Clean the simulator with a damp cloth, using warm water 
and neutral detergent.¦
Do not use any abrasive cleaning agents or materials 
Allow trainer to completely dry before storing
