Intended use

To support training health care providers in uterine balloon tamponade insertions for the management of post-partum haemorrhage and other postpartum uterus interventions, such as the insertion of an IUD in the immediate postpartum

Technical specifications

Mounted, table top anatomically accurate structure resembling the postpartum uterus from 10 minutes up to 48 hours after the delivery of the placenta with visual access of the uterine cavity

Features

Has all relevant anatomical features: fundus, cervix, and perineum along with the possibility to extend the uterus (relevant for insertion of postpartum IUD).
The uterine angle can be changed by applying pressure to the model.
Capability to practice “blinded” placements and lift the cover of the uterus to evaluate placement.
